Donkey Acts Just Like A Dog When He Sees His Dad Come Home

Walter is a sweet donkey who wants nothing more than to fit in with his three German shepherd siblings, writes kingdomstv

Over the years, while growing up with his siblings, he’s picked up some unusual habits which his parents love him for.

Walter was only a baby when he was adopted by Brad and Kelly Blake of Arizona.

“We have wild burros that roam the town,” Brad Blake told The Dodo. “Walter’s mama rejected him because she was too young.”

“The Bureau of Land Management and town locals tried for 10 hours to get Walter’s mama to take to him. Nothing was working, so we were called and asked if we would like to adopt him. Of course, we said yes!”

Before long, Walter adjusted to his new surroundings and connected with the new people in his life, especially his dad.

Nowadays, the rescued donkey who still lives in the Blakes’ house like any of the other dogs has grown to weigh 150 pounds.

Check out the sweet reunion between walter and his parents:

“We have three German shepherds and they all took to baby Walter from day one. They have helped us raise him and teach him house manners.”

Because of this, Walter exhibits many dog-like personality traits, especially when his dad comes back from a business trip.

The moment he sees him, Walter will run up to him and nuzzle him with excitement while wagging his tail.

“Walter acts as though he is a dog,” said Blake. “He wags his tail and gets excited when we come home. He hops and brushes his body against me to love on him. He even lays on the couch next to me for naps.”

“Every night we all go on our walk into the desert for exercise and Walter runs around with our shepherds as though he is one of the pack,” he added.

“We never imagined how much Walter would change our lives for the better,” Blake said.
