Couple Busts Open Cabin Door & Deplanes Down Slide With Dog As Plane Departs

A Delta Airlines flight was poised for takeoff at LaGuardia Airport in New York when two passengers suddenly opened a cabin door, activated the slide to the plane as it was taxiing down the runway, and deplaned along with a service dog, writes ilovemydogsomuch

The plane was bound for Atlanta when the scary incident occurred, leaving many passengers anxious and concerned.

The couple, Antonio Murdock, 31, and Brianna Greco, 23, are from Florida and both are facing charges of third-degree criminal trespass for their actions. Murdock has also been charged with second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree reckless endangerment. Murdock allegedly told Port Authority police that he has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and he was triggered while onboard the plane.

Another passenger on the plane, Brian Plummer, reported seeing the couple change seats several times as the plane prepared to leave the airport. Plummer said Murdock sprung up from his seat and told the flight attendant he was unable to stay seated due to his PTSD. He apparently told her, “If I sit down, I’ll freak out.”

Incredibly, no one was hurt during the incident, and the dog was taken to Animal Care Centers of NYC’s Brooklyn location. Greco was given a receipt to be able to get the dog. The plane returned to the gate, the passengers were put on other outgoing flights. An airline spokesperson shared, “Maintenance technicians have evaluated the aircraft and [it] is scheduled to return to service this evening.”
