The incredible transformation of Khaleesi. You won’t believe it’s the same dog!

Every dog deserves a chance of care and love. The power of love can make an ‘almost miraculous transformation’ possible. This is one of those cases that only proves why we should never give up on a dog.

It happened in Bulgaria, where many street dogs suffer from abuse and cruelty. In a city called Rudozem there is a non-profit foundation that rescues street dogs and finds them loving homes. They are called Rudozem Street Dog Rescue (RSDR).

On the 12th of May, 2018 they were contacted through their Facebook page about a dog outside the city that was looked for to be “destroyed of diseased” – as it stated in a local news article.

They traveled 70 km to find the dog and when they found her, they saw in what a horrible condition she was: emaciated, covered in ticks, with a severe case of demodex, Sarcoptic Mange and Ehrlichiosis. But she still approached when called – she was in such a need of touch and care. And RSDR gave it to her.

RSDR gave her a place to recover, a worm treatment, medicine, a special shampoo for her skin, a warm bath, food and water, a bunch of visits to the vet and a lot of love. And they gave her a warrior’s name: Khaleesi – after Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, who walked out alive after being set on fire.

The transformation is incredible. In a few months she already looked like a completely different dog. A second chance is all they need sometimes. You will be amazed with the last pictures!
