After Surviving Brain Surgery, Little Boy Gets A Puppy Who’s Just Like Him

Life is not always a happy ride. There will be bumps along the way as we tread through our journey. And for some people, they encounter these obstacles at a very young age, which is heart-wrenching for a mother.
When a child is brought into this world, mothers expect their child to have fun with other kids, to cherish the places and things this world has to offer, and to enjoy their childhood to the fullest without a hint of hardship and a trace of sadness. But this is not the case for our little fighter.

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like you to meet our brave warrior Branson Figueroa.

Little Bran was diagnosed with craniosynostosis at the age of two. Craniosynostosis is a birth defect in which the bones in a baby’s skull join together before the baby’s brain is fully formed.

As the baby’s brain grows, the skull can become more misshapen. The spaces between a typical baby’s cranial bones are filled with flexible material called sutures that allow the skull to expand as the baby’s brain grows. However, for a baby with craniosynostosis, one or more of the sutures closes too early, which can limit or slow the growth of the baby’s brain.

Thanos, the good boy, saves the day.

Bran needed to undergo skull reconstruction surgery. Fortunately, the surgery was a success and he managed to recover quickly. To celebrate this wonderful news, his parents decided to get a Boston terrier pup who they named Thanos. The two developed a bond easily and became the best of friends.

However, Thanos’ human parents noticed something wrong with their new baby so they brought him to a veterinarian. After a series of tests, the vet believed that Thanos may have hydrocephalus. Hydrocephalus is an excess of cerebrospinal fluid that has leaked inside the skull, leading to brain swelling and brain damage, a case that is very similar to Bran’s.

These two are like soulmates. The tests, surgery, and treatments are very similar to what his human brother had gone through.

And just like his human brother, Thanos would also defeat his disease. With a snap of his paws his suffering will be gone, just like how his namesake from Marvel comics eradicated half of the population in the entire universe.

His little human will be there to support him in his entire journey because love knows no boundaries and species.
“I believe God puts everything into our life for a reason,” Branson’s mom said.

Everything happens for a reason. There is a reason why Bran’s parents had Thanos in their lives. Thanos was a welcoming gift for Bran’s fast recovery and continuous recuperation. Bran on the other hand is the support Thanos needs in his battle against hydrocephaly. They got each other’s backs through thick and thin.

Bran was given this life because he is strong enough to live it. And so is Thanos.

Life is full of adversity and challenges. The challenges we have in life are designed for us to become better as human beings. We should use our challenges in life as a motivation to become better versions
