Five Years Of This Golden Retriever’s Life Were Wasted In A Tiny Muddy Pen

The Humane Society International set out to shut down their 15th dog meat farm in South Korea hitting a milestone of 2,000 dogs saved from the horrific practice, writes ilovemydogsomuch

And in this group of dogs was a Golden Retriever they named Chewbacca who had been forced to live in a muddy pen the first five years of his life.

Despite all of the neglect and abuse, Chewbacca was so friendly and just happy to see these people. His life had prevented him from receiving any physical or mental stimulation over the years, but he was lucky that he’d not yet been among the dogs slaughtered. And today was the day he’d be freed!

The Golden Retriever ended up being adopted by Jeffrey Flocken, the HSI President. Chewbacca is now all healed up from his painful past and living the life he’s always deserved while surrounded by a family who loves him so very much!
