Dog Beaten By Owner & Put On Kill-List Sees A Kind Woman & Begs To Be Noticed
A dog named Rudy had the misfortune of having an extremely unkind and abusive owner, writes ilovemydogsomuch
His owner would deliberately starve him and beat him up on several occasions. After months of abuse and neglect, Rudy was rescued by the workers of “Houston Street Dogs”.
At the hospital, it was found that Rudy had a broken hip from one of his previous assaults. He had worms and mange, and critical eye, skin and ear infections as well.
On top of that, Rudy was not doing great mentally and his chances of recovery weren’t very promising. The shelter workers knew they didn’t have the funds for Rudy’s treatment, so they made the heartbreaking call to put him on the euthanasia list.
However, Rudy’s fortunes changed when a kind woman walked into the shelter. Poor Rudy looked so haunted in his kennel that the woman immediately decided to become his foster mother. While she did manage to pull him off the kill-list, his survival was still an uphill task.
For the next few months, Rudy’s life was filled with painful vet visits and loads of love and care from his foster mom. As he slowly found the strength to stand on his own, he began venturing out into the backyard to mingle with his many foster siblings! But sadly, he wasn’t able to play due to his broken hip.
By this time, the shelter managed to raise $6,300 for Rudy’s hip replacement surgery by sharing his story online. Rudy’s struggles tugged at people’s hearts and the amount was put together pretty quickly!
Rudy has become an active and fun-loving dog now thanks to his successful hip surgery. He’s going to spend the rest of his life with his amazing foster mom and doggie siblings. We wish this spunky survivor all the happiness in the world!
