This past November, a good Samaritan rushed Robbie, a one-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, to Dumb Friends League in Denver Colorado, after he was found with severe burns from his head all the way down to his tail.

Veterinary staff at the center said Robbie’s burns were the most severe burns they had ever seen. In addition to his burns, he was also very malnourished, and they were unsure if his body would even be able to recover from this awful shape he was in.

But vets refused to give up. For months, Robbie underwent treatment for his burns and defied the odds. As the days went on, his burns began healing and he started to break out of his shell.

Robbie has since made a full recovery and has even been adopted into a loving forever home!

His new family wanted to adopt a young dog who was good with kids and randomly decided to check the Dumb Friends League’s website one day.

When Dana Lahoff, Robbie’s new mom, stumbled upon his picture and story, she knew he would be a perfect fit for their family. She went and picked him up the same day, and Robbie and his family formed an instant connection!

Despite everything Robbie has been through, he remains loving, sweet and affectionate.
