Wife & Man Try Saving Dog That Won’t Come Near Them, A Yr Later He Came Running
A man, named Joe, noticed a dog poking his head out from the woods by his house. He explains in the video below, that people have a tendency of dumping dogs in that area, writes ilovemydogsomuch
He was very concerned for the pup and had no idea if he was lost or left behind. Joe kept trying to approach the dog after he came out from the woods but it was obvious that he was scared to death.
Joe then explains that since the dog wouldn’t come up to him, he would do his best to feed him daily. He would walk over to the wooded area and pray the dog would come out. If he did, then Joe would sit there, with his hand out, hoping he’d come over and sniff him. The dog would get close and then retreat. Joe recognized this kind of behavior and assumed that the dog must have suffered from a traumatic upbringing.
Joe and his wife, Marla, decided to call the dog Scooby. They spent all of autumn trying to save him but it was of no use. The dog would hide and then disappear for days at a time. Sometimes longer. They especially worried when winter hit and snow was falling. They had no idea where he was getting food from or where he was going to stay warm. They’d call out to him day after day, but Scooby was nowhere to be found.
Then, as seasons tend to do, winter passed and spring came. As the days warmed up, Scooby suddenly appeared. Joe and Marla were so happy to see him! The couple wasn’t expected such a warm greeting but Scooby came running to them when they called as if he had missed them too! This was a turning point in their relationship. Scooby wouldn’t let them touch him but he certainly let them get closer.
Then summer hit! And with that, came warm days. Scooby wouldn’t come too close to the house but he certainly liked the pool. He sat there, contemplating getting in but he was too afraid. But at least he was staying close by.
With the couple’s consistency, patience, and love Scooby learned that this was where he belonged. At least he belonged close by. What follows in the story is totally awesome! Wait till you see the video below. You will have the biggest smile on your face. Thank you to The Dodo for sharing these wonderful tales with us all!
