Elderly Woman Passes Away & Now All 14 Of Her Senior Dogs Are Homeless
Two rescue groups, Stray Rescue Of St. Louis and Five Acres Animal Shelter, teamed up when an elderly dog owner passed away unexpectedly, leaving 14 senior dogs without a home. All fourteen dogs had never received medical care either, writes ilovemydogsomuch
Both groups were unsure what to expect but they were certain that they wanted to help. The rescuers knew immediately that the dogs all suffered from dental disease. They had either lost some or all of their teeth already.
While the dogs’ health wasn’t the greatest, and who can be sure of what type of discomfort or pain they were in, all the dogs were patient and sweet. They understood that these nice new humans were there to help them.
Back at the shelters, all the dogs were assessed. Many suffered from mange, cataracts, and other serious issues. One by one, all fourteen dogs received baths and loads of affection. They felt mighty special (because they are!)
The rescue groups admit that each dog will require an extensive amount of medical care but promise they will all get it. Whether they go on to a medical foster next or possibly, if any are well enough, can be adopted out, we are so pleased to see that all fourteen dogs are being well taken care of.
This is why rescue groups are ANGELS! Also don’t forget, seniors matter too! They are the hardest to place in forever homes. Please consider opening your heart and home to an older pet. To see more about the amazing rescue, watch the video below!
