Firefighters Try To Extract Dog Caught In SUV Engine Before Angels Call Him Home

Maryanne Davidson and her friends were out walking on a beautiful day in the Dallas, Texas area recently, writes ilovemydogsomuch

The group had a great time together, but when Maryanne returned to her vehicle, she noticed something very strange underneath the hood. Somehow, a little dog got trapped inside the engine of the woman’s SUV and had no way out. If she tried moving the car, the dog could be severely harmed, so the woman was in a predicament.

Immediately, she and her friends called 311 and 911 for Dallas Fire Rescue. Firefighters got right to work and removed one of the SUV’s tires so they could access the frightened dog from the top and bottom of the engine compartment. For over 2-1/2 hours, they worked to try and free the dog from the nightmare situation. Finally, all of the efforts paid off, as the little dog was saved from the engine and rushed to Dallas Animal Services Adoption Center. However, there’s more to the story than the rescue.

Firefighter James Tooter Hayes, who helped save the dog, followed up on the little one’s progress. Maryanne Davidson also wanted information on the dog, and she received the best news ever. Firefighter Hayes decided to adopt the furbaby. He felt that the “grace of God brought them together” so he named the dog Grace. These days, Grace is doing well and has recovered from her traumatic experience. Thank goodness her savior, Maryanne, found her before it was too late.
