Man Looks Outside After Dog Wakes Him Up & Sees Nightmare Speeding Toward Him
There are many stories of dogs alerting their owners of a fire or robbery, but there are also unique cases where a dog saves their beloved owner from Mother Nature’s rage of fury, writes ilovemydogsomuch
Perry County, Kentucky resident, David L. Napier lived to tell the story of how his 7-year-old Golden Retriever gave his all to save his life. It all started with a massive amount of flooding to the Kentucky county, which for some people evolved into a life-threatening mudslide.
Napier was sleeping and his beloved Golden Retriever, Colt, was laying by his side on the bed. Colt started whimpering over and over and was acting unusual. Napier asked his beloved dog what was wrong and that’s when things got scary. “As soon as I stood up I started hearing some cracks and some boom’s and followed by a series of boom’s in my living room is what it sounded like. I walked in and looked down the steps and they weren’t there,” Napier said. “Mud was coming in and I grabbed him and grabbed some clothes. I tried to get out the front door I pried it open and went on out on the deck which really isn’t hardly there anymore then ran out as quick as we could. ”
These days, Napier is grateful to stand in from of what used to be the home he shared with Colt, his Golden Retriever. He is grateful to be alive, but Colt was not as fortunate. The day after Colt saved his owner from the mudslide, Colt passed away unexpectedly at Napier’s parents’ house. They do not know the official cause of death as of this writing, but Napier is grateful for Colt’s quick thinking in the final hours of his life.
“It’s a lot. It’s been hard to take, and it’s been a rough 2021, but I’m glad he was there when he was and kind of gives a little finality to it all,” he stated. Our deepest condolences go out to David and his family on the loss of Colt.
