Stray Drags Her Skinny Body Around With A Chain Heavy Enough To Tow A Car

We will never understand how any human can be cruel to an animal. It makes our blood boil! A poor stray wandering the streets had endured abandonment and cruelty. She was chained up by her owner with a metal chain heavy enough to tow a car! Then when her owner decided she wasn’t worth his efforts, he cut the chain and let her go, writes ilovemydogsomuch

By the time the dog was found, she had been on the streets for a long time. She was thin and weak but had no choice– in order to find food and water– she had to drag the chain around with her. It was heartbreaking for sure.

A rescue group finally stepped up and saved the dog. The poor girl was scared. She had no idea what their intentions were. She had been hurt by humans before. It took a lot of coaxing, and an entire bag of treats, but the rescuers were able to guide the dog towards them and put her in their vehicle.

Once at the vet clinic, the chain was finally removed. They put the thick metal chain on a scale and it was a whopping 10 lbs. Can you imagine dragging something like that around your neck day after day? We can’t either! Especially because the dog, the rescuers named Marie, only weighed 30 lbs. That chain was a third of her weight!

Once the chain was off Marie, she looked so relieved. Her new human friends even claim that she smiled. They were so pleased that Marie could finally stand upright! The next steps were to get her fed, bathed, and find her a foster home. They’re confident Marie will find a forever home soon. She’s a sweet dog with a lot of gratitude. We are so grateful that Marie is finally off the streets and surrounded by love!
