Our dogs are our children. They are our family. When we adopt them and bring them into our home, it is forever. Yet, some coldhearted individuals have no remorse leaving them behind. One loyal dog did not care that his family left him. He still held out hope.

The home that once housed his family sat empty now, completely abandoned. The dog likely went about and sought food in surrounding neighborhoods but always came back to his home. Despite his family packing up and leaving, and leaving him behind, he didn’t care. This was his home and he would wait forever for his family to return.

As he struggled to eat and drink, his fur grew out and became matted. His whole body was neglected. He was suffering from the weight of all that fur too. It pulled at his skin as he walked. His coat also grew over his face and he could barely see.

Finally, rescuers heard about this poor boy and were able to save him. When they carried him into the vet’s office, everyone was floored by his appearance. They were astonished and then heartbroken. He must be in so much pain!

They took him in and gave him a nice meal, then it was time to bathe him and shave all that matted fur off. He’s so much more comfortable! He looks like a dog now! His new human friends cannot explain to him that his family is never coming back (and if they did, they didn’t deserve him anyway!), but it seems he’s starting to understand that this is the start of his new life.

The dog’s rescuers posted his story and photos online and a very kind person stepped forward eager to give him a safe and loving home. His traumatic past is just that… IN THE PAST! He is now loved unconditionally and forever. This good boy will never be left behind again. To see his rescue, scroll on down. We are so happy that he’s safe and sound, and loved!
