The Villa Rica Police Department is asking Georgia residents for help in finding the monster who tossed an emaciated dog into a dumpster. It all took place on Christmas Day, a time for celebrating and cherishing loved ones. Instead, the little dog had no way out and would certainly have perished without assistance.
A man living nearby was taking out the trash when he heard something inside the dumpster. He got scared and called the police for assistance. On arrival, the officers search the trash and found the little dog inside a black plastic bag with a blanket. The dog was near death, as Villa Rica Police Captain Keith Shaddix said she appeared not to have been fed in a while.
The sweet and innocent soul was freezing and abandoned but she was no longer alone. Officers transported her to Atlanta West Veterinary Hospital where she received care. She was well enough to go home with the officer who found her in the dumpster, Officer Jason O’Neal. He has named her Miracle and is now a permanent member of his family.
“We want to find the person that mistreated this dog and attempted to throw her away. We want to find this person and hold them accountable,” stated Captain Shaddix. On Facebook, they continued with, “If you recognize the dog and know the owner’s identity, you are urged to contact Sergeant B. Finley at 678-840-1314 or bfinley@villarica.org.”
According to a recent update from the Villa Rica Police Department’s Facebook page, PETA is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who dumped Miracle.
